The Natural Beauty Within Sunrises and Sunsets

I have always been one who loves to be outside in nature, especially when the weather is nice. Being a girl who enjoys going on long runs and walks outdoors, I have seen countless sunrises and sunsets throughout my lifetime while doing early and late workouts. Each time I witness one, I am left in awe of what beauty can exist in a world that, at times, feels like it's falling apart. When you're in the presence of one, there is a sense of peace and tranquility in the atmosphere. Maybe it's just me, but it's like you have entered an entirely different realm of the universe. One in which time is frozen and every little issue in the world seems to lose its value.

From bright warm tones to the way the sun kisses the horizontal line, sunsets and sunrises are truly mesmerizing. The sky is painted in such a way that it cannot be replicated. Even when we try to capture its beauty through a lens, photographs fail to reflect what reality is. However, I think there is a valid reason as to why sunrises and sunsets can never be perfectly mirrored. I believe that, although yes, the sun is needed to keep life on earth, and in which sunsets and sunrises are born, they have a second purpose of showing what natural radiance looks like. Today, we live in a world where we place value on what we deem as perfect. We manipulate reality to meet our own unrealistic standards, which we created. However, with nature such as the sky, we do not have the ability to change and must accept its natural beauty. Honestly, I believe nature acts as a means to show us that we should aim to find the beauty that lies within things as they are, rather than seeking to alter them. Changing our perception of how we interpret the world and instead embracing things as they naturally are not only allows us to better understand their purpose but also fosters a sense of inner peace and connection as a whole.

  1. This is beautifully written and so relatable, there’s something truly grounding about watching the sky shift colors during a sunrise or sunset. I love how you connected the natural beauty of the world to the idea of embracing authenticity. It’s a powerful reminder to slow down and appreciate things just as they are.

I am so glad we have had decent weather this past week because the sunsets have been absolutely stunning. I hope I can see a few more before the end of the semester!

  3. Very powerful! It is truly a blessing and amazing of all the beauty the world holds. From stars in the sky, to sunsets and sunrises to the bringing of new animals in the world. Most of the world now days tends to focus only on all the bad and wakes up with anger in their heart and it brings peace to mind to know that our generation has not completely fallen into that rabbit hole.
