Easter Break!

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of traveling home for a short, but very much needed break. Although it was only three days, it was a very eventful couple of days.

When I first arrived home on Thursday afternoon, I was greeted by my furry baby, Joey. His small brown eyes lit up with joy when I first entered through the door. He was beyond thrilled to see me since I hadn't been back home since spring break, so much so that he couldn't wait to jump all over me despite the fact that he knows better. Later that evening, my family and I headed to my brother's baseball game, so he had to be put in his cage for a few hours...poor thing. Don't worry, I made sure that when we arrived back home, he got some treats to make up for it.

On Friday, I had a pretty chill day. I worked on a scrapbook I am making for a friend who is also graduating this semester, and did a little reading outside while it was nice. I wanted to get a head start on my summer tan, haha. However, it didn't turn out to be a tan. Instead, it was more like a burn, although it didn't luckily.

Saturday was an eventful day, to say the least. The day began with a great start of getting donuts from my favorite little shop back at home. Then, since it was nice outside and I was running off a sugar high, I had the brilliant idea to go for a run. I was humbled real quick by my decision. However, I trudged through two miles at a fairly decent pace, considering the fact that I am not in as good running shape as I had been in the fall. After my run, I went on a two-mile walk. During this walk, all the endorphins and serotonin in my body led me to want to run again. Therefore, I decided to run one more mile at a slightly faster pace than my previous run. Later on that day, I discovered that while I was working out, I had caught some more sun on my chest, arms, and back, even though it was partly sunny. This time, I actually felt the sun's impact on my skin, especially when it came time to take a shower.

On Easter Sunday, I was thankful to have spent the day with my family before having to make my venture back to Ada. My family hosted the day's activities at our house. We soaked up the beautiful weather by hiding eggs and playing a little baseball outside in our backyard before eating dinner. For dinner, we had grilled BBQ chicken and cheeseburgers, macaroni salad, fruits, and vegetables. For dessert, there was an assortment of cookies to choose from, as well as a ton of candy. After we ate, I said my goodbyes and began to make my way back to school. As I was about halfway to school, it hit me that this would be my last drive up to school. I couldn't believe that the next time I'll be driving on those roads will be after graduation, and I won't be coming back in the fall. That's when it really hit me that I need to soak up every last moment I have these next four weeks because I will never have the chance to again. So here's to making some of the best memories in the next few weeks!
