Spring Break!

Last week, I had my last spring break ever from school! I ventured back home for the first time since coming back from Christmas break. I was beyond thrilled to see my family and friends after not seeing them for nearly eight weeks!

Throughout the week, I had plans with family and friends but also had plenty of downtime. Now, I had planned to use at least some of my free time to do some schoolwork so I wouldn't have as much to do when I came back after the break, but that did not happen. I did, however, have the intention one day during the week to get a lot completed by forcing myself to go out to a Panera Bread and spend a few hours working. Now, although I did spend a good portion of my day there, I just could not seem to get much done. I was proud of myself for at least getting a little work done, which, to be honest, is better than nothing even if it took me twice as long to do it than it should have.

Besides wishing I had done more schoolwork over the break, I am glad that I was able to spend time with my family. My Mom took off work two extra days during the week, so we were able to share some quality mother-daughter time together. We spent one day getting errands done and the other day was spent searching for a nice dress that I need for formals for my sorority in a few weeks. While being home, I was also able to visit both of my grandparents. It was really nice to catch up with them and share all that I have been up to over the past two months.

Lastly, I'd like to acknowledge the multiple different seasons of weather that were a reminder to me that I was spending my spring break in Ohio. When I first came home that weekend, it was horrible outside. Temperatures were in the low 30s and high 20s, which made it very difficult to sit through my brother's baseball games in the evenings. As the week continued, the temperatures rose greatly, with highs in the 60s and 70s. This was the perfect temperature for running. Therefore, I was able to go on a few runs in the earlier evenings around my neighborhood.

As thankful as I am that I was able to go home and have a nice break from school, I am excited to be back on campus and get back into my routine. I am determined to make these next two months of the semester the best that I can before officially graduating!

I didn't take a lot of photos during break, but here are a few that I have!

  1. I am so glad you were able to have a quiet and refreshing spring break! I had big plans to get ahead on schoolwork too, but that didn't happen for me either. Sometimes, the best breaks are the ones where you don't have much to do and you get nothing done.

  2. It is always nice to see family and friends after not seeing them for weeks on end. To be able to catch up and just relax and enjoy the company. I also feel like we all can agree with you on wanting to getting some schoolwork done but only very little amounts of it being done. Altogether, it sounds like you had a very nice and relaxing spring break.

  3. It sounds like you had a wonderful spring break, even if it didn’t go exactly as planned with schoolwork! It’s great that you had time to reconnect with family and enjoy some quality moments with your mom and grandparents. I totally understand how hard it can be to focus on work when you’re in a new environment, but at least you made progress, and quality family time is priceless. Also, the weather fluctuations in Ohio seem classic! Best of luck with the rest of the semester—you’ve got this as you head toward graduation!
