Twitter or X: The Confusion Persists
The well-known social media platform X has caused quite a commotion over the past few years. X, formally known as Twitter since the creation of the app in 2006, was officially purchased by Elon Musk in 2022. Musk made numerous changes to the platform, the most significant one being the renaming of the app itself.
When X was first introduced to the public, many were left puzzled. Some believed that it was an entirely new app with different attributes, while others thought that it was solely just a name change. The confusion that arose when X was launched greatly impacted the app's success rates. One instance in which X's overall ratings were affected was that many people stopped utilizing the app because they were uncertain of the capabilities of the app itself. Users were unsure of what information the app could retain regarding one's personal account. As a result, this led to X's performance ratings to drastically drop over time. However, this has not affected regular X users, as the function of the app still operates unaffected.
Although X faced quite a few challenges when it was rebranded, the app itself is still resourceful for many businesses and influencers, as well as everyday people. Today, X attracts more than three hundred million monthly users, which has profited nearly three billion dollars. When the app became X, Elon Musk added new features such as audio and video calling and infrastructure upgrades for Spaces, a tool where users can have live audio conversions. These new elements have allowed companies and influencers to reach a larger audience, which can help further contribute to the success of the business.
Looking into the future, I believe that X will continue to be a viable platform that many utilize. I think that as people become more familiar with its newest features, they will realize that X still shares many of the same qualities that Twitter had. I believe that as people begin to realize this, they will be more open to using the app, which will allow the app to regain the high status it had before rebranding itself.
Allayna!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you! I think the rebrand of Twitter to X definitely affected people, specifically those that used twitter when it originally came out. Even though the program is practically the same, there are some different features that might make it harder for people that originally used twitter to continue with X. I do agree that X can become a good or viable platform however, I do think that it could become less popular over time compared to Tik Tok and Instagram. Both are growing at a fast rate and I'm not sure that X will be able to keep up. I think there is a chance of success for the platform to grow it might just mean that more Generation Z needs to use the app. Great post, have a great spring break and safe travels home!!
What you have stated I have to agree with. Still, I believe there are faults with this new rebranding and a lot of bugs that need to be worked out. Twitter is a reliable platform, no matter what the "robot" man has done to it. It needs improvement, that is what I will leave off on. I believe your take on this chapter was very interesting and respectable. Great job on understanding it. I do believe that this platform will soon die off like many in the past, even with his updates and reworkings. - VA
